Seriously wild!
A waste company has always had a serious** approach to the environment and now it has proved its commitment by becoming a Corporate member at Bronze level of the Staffordshire and the Warwickshire Wildlife Trusts.
serious** is a company that believes dealing with waste brings environmental responsibilities and it enforces strict standards in its work with local authorities, pub and hotel companies and other commercial and domestic clients.
serious** was set up by David Birkett and his wife Joanna nearly 10 years ago to empty septic tanks and has now grown to a position of strength and national recognition for installing and maintaining non-municipal sewage systems, established by consistently high standards that get the job done and make sure that the environment is left unharmed.
"The ideal scenario for us is that no-one is disturbed by us when we’ve been to install service it or remove waste, and we include the flora and fauna as well as neighbours."
David has long been a champion of wildlife, beginning as a child near his home in Richmond, North Yorkshire when he spent hours scrambling the hills and moors of and surrounding Swaledale with other mischievous friends.
"I developed an interest in the animal kingdom and plants that’s grown to a passion as the years have moved on," he said, "It is now a large part of the ethos within the company and therefore, it’s really important that the business plays its part in supporting such a worthy cause as the Wildlife Trust."
Nigel Evans who represents both the Warwickshire and the Staffordshire Wildlife Trusts added: "Our members come from all walks of life and we’re particularly delighted to welcome serious** to join us in our efforts to conserve and protect our very valuable wildlife in Staffordshire and Warwickshire. It’s gratifying to see such commitment from a company like serious** especially as they deal with such an essential service that directly affects the land around us."
Serious** has contracts with major pub and restaurant chains, as well as maintaining and emptying many hundreds of domestic septic tanks, sewage treatment and pumping systems a year throughout the Midlands and North West.
David Birkett added: "This is an important time for waste, because the regulations to protect the environment are quite rightly getting stricter and people need to know they are dealing with experts they can trust."
