Waste Fat to fuel new London power station
11th May 2013
Thames Water has announced plans to collect over 30 tonnes of fat every day from London's restaurants, food manufacturers and sewer pinchpoints over the next 20 years. The fat will be used as energy for a new power station and will contribute towards the National Grid.
Thames Water spends over £1m per month unblocking fats, oils and grease from pipes and sewers around London.
