A restaurant owned by celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has been fined £30,000 after polluting a stream with untreated sewage between November 2007 and January 2009.

The Environment Agency brought the charges after conducting tests on the stream at the Yew Tree restaurant in Highclere, near Newbury, Berkshire. Neighbors had complained that 'sometimes the smell is too much to cope with'.
